One key deadline applies to groups planning to form a Tax Group for Corporate Tax purposes. It is essential to understand that a Tax Group under the Corporate Tax Law is entirely separate from a Tax Group under VAT Law.

If businesses plan to form a Tax Group from the first tax period (provided all conditions under the UAE Corporate Tax Law are met throughout the year), the application must be submitted jointly by the parent company and each subsidiary before the end of the relevant tax period.

Moreover, each entity within the proposed Tax Group must first obtain independent Corporate Tax Registration before submitting the application. Once registered, the application can be submitted to the FTA before the tax period ends. For instance, if the tax period ends on 31 December 2024, the application must be submitted by 31 December 2024. Failure to do so may result in the loss of the opportunity to form a Tax Group for that tax period.
