Types of Licenses in KIZAD :
Obtaining an appropriate license is necessary to start a business in KIZAD FTZ. Therefore, it is important to choose the right type pf license according to your business activity.
- Industrial License
The Industrial License Permits import of raw material, manufacturing, processing, assembling, packaging and export of intermediate and / or finished product and such other industrial activities as are published in the Industrial License (Category List).
- Trading License OR General Trading License
The trading license grants permission for the holder to carry out specified trading operations, including importation, exportation, distribution, storage, and warehousing of items and commodities. A General Trading License maybe issued if the total number of products exceed 17 (Seventeen) or total number of groups exceed 3 (three).
- Service License
The service license permits management and economic consulting services, marketing services, transportation logistics such as cargo and freight forwarding, restaurants, retail food stores, catering services, travel agencies, and other companies that sell services.
Type of Companies :
There are two types of business establishments permitted in KIZAD.
- Limited liability Company
The Company is a limited liability company (LLC), having a minimum paid-up capital of AED 150,000 or such higher paid-up capital as may be prescribed. LLC can be owned by individual or corporate or individual and corporate. There are a minimum of 1 and maximum of 5 shareholders in a limited liability company.
- Branch Company
Any Company outside KIZAD can register its branch in KIZAD free zone. Both UAE-based and foreign companies can establish branches in KIZAD. There is no initial capital requirement in the case of branch setup in KIZAD.
KIZAD Dual License :
An important feature of KIZAD FTZ is the Availability of a dual license. Through this process, company owners in KIZAD can get additional licenses from DED Abu Dhabi for the Mainland area. This license eliminates the necessity of a Local Sponsor or Local Service Agent (LSA) for business in the mainland area. It is not necessary for a company with a dual license to purchase or hire a physical office in mainland Abu Dhabi.
